Be Blessed on Resurrection Sunday!

Easter Vs. Resurrection Sunday?

Is it "bad" to celebrate Easter?

I prefer to call it Resurrection Sunday because I am a Christian and I want to emphasize that, for me, this holiday is celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.

Should we not acknowledge the "Easter" part of it?

What about all the bunnies and eggs? Should we ignore this part of the holiday?

Again, this is my opinion, Jesus died and was reborn. It makes sense to celebrate this in the spring when nature is being 'reborn'. Baby animals, eggs, flowers, and other

Easter decorations all symbolize this rebirth. For me, it all points to Him.

But, Isn't this 'Pagan'?

I know that the name Easter came from a pagan goddess. I know there were traditional festivals to celebrate spring at this time. To me, this actually strengthens my faith.

But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”

All of nature, including all humans, were made for the moment in time when we were renewed through the death of Jesus and His resurrection.

I believe those who came before Jesus knew in their bones, their instincts, that this was a time to be celebrated.

I believe the very seasons were created to celebrate this.

According to Encyclopedia Brittanica, the Greek word 'logos' can also be translated as 'plan'.

This was God's plan, his logos, all along.

God came down to Earth. He experienced the human experience, including death. Including suffering.

He died an unjust death. He was an innocent man who got the death penalty.

He died for US. Just like He planned.

Because He loves us.

And He rose again. Just like the sun rises every day.

Like the seasons change from desolate winter to fertile spring.

Like I am made new and given a fresh chance to do this life right.

So is it Easter or Resurrection Sunday? Call it what you want.

Just know, like the little children know:

This is a time to celebrate! You are Blessed!

"But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
Job 12:7-10
